At her family home in West London, model and property developer Belle Lucia set out to create a kitchen that balances timeless elegance with everyday practicality. The space is centred around Neolith Himalaya Crystal sintered stone and a sculptural 20 mm mitred waterfall island that forms an architectural focal point—grounding the room visually while supporting the rhythms of daily family life.

A refined reinterpretation of fine white marble, Neolith Himalaya Crystal features soft grey veining and warm undertones that complement the cabinetry’s gentle tones. With a polished finish positioned beneath a skylight, the surface reflects natural light beautifully, enhancing the kitchen’s bright, inviting feel and reinforcing its calm, contemporary character.

Designed and built by Inporiem, the project pairs Neolith with classic detailing and a serene modern sensibility. The same material continues behind the cooker as a full-height upstand, creating visual continuity and contributing to a light, expansive atmosphere.
Timeless calm for a family home

For Belle, the kitchen needed to work hard while feeling serene. As a busy mother of two young children, she was looking for a space that could handle the demands of family life while maintaining a design-led aesthetic. The result is a peaceful environment where performance meets poise—durable enough for everyday living, yet elegant enough to elevate the entire home.
“I wanted the kitchen to feel timeless and serene — a space that’s both elegant and completely practical for family life. Neolith Himalaya Crystal captured that perfectly.”

This sense of calm is reinforced through the room’s cohesive material language. Cream-toned classic joinery with panelled detailing brings quiet refinement, while brushed brass fixtures introduce warmth and contrast. Light oak timber flooring adds softness underfoot and natural continuity, complementing the stone’s warmer undertones. Overhead, modern brass pendants with opal glass globes echo the hardware, tying the palette together without disrupting the simplicity of the scheme.
A sculptural centrepiece in Himalaya Crystal
The heart of the design is the island: 20 mm Neolith Himalaya Crystal, mitred to create a substantial waterfall edge on both sides. Its geometry gives the kitchen a strong anchor—an element that reads as sculptural and purposeful, while still feeling effortless within the space. Positioned under the skylight, the island becomes even more impactful as the polished finish catches and reflects natural light, amplifying the room’s brightness and highlighting the subtle movement of the veining.

Himalaya Crystal’s aesthetic plays a key role here. Rather than relying on high-contrast patterning, the surface brings a softer expression of marble-like elegance—one that complements the cabinetry’s gentle tones and supports the kitchen’s serene character. The result is a focal point that feels elevated and understated at once: confident in presence, calm in expression.
Designed for continuity: the upstand detail
A defining gesture of the project is the decision to extend the same stone behind the cooker as a full-height upstand. This continuation creates a clean backdrop that reinforces the kitchen’s sense of order and visual clarity. It also strengthens the relationship between horizontal and vertical planes: the island and the cooking zone speak the same material language, allowing the eye to move through the space with ease.

Executed by LSD Stone, the fabrication brings crisp definition to key edges and junctions—particularly through the island’s mitred detailing—supporting the design intent of seamlessness and cohesion. In a room shaped by soft tones and carefully balanced materials, this precision becomes part of the overall calm.
Beauty with everyday confidence

Material choice was central to achieving Belle’s brief. Neolith’s sintered stone was selected for its durability, performance, and aesthetic purity—qualities that matter in a kitchen designed for constant use. Resistant to heat, scratches, stains, and UV light, the surface is built to maintain its finish in the reality of a busy household, allowing the space to remain both practical and visually immaculate over time. Belle’s perspective reflects exactly why the material was the right fit:
“It has this beautiful, soft veining that feels luxurious yet subtle, and it instantly brightens the entire room. What I love most is that it’s as functional as it is stunning — resistant to scratches, stains and heat, so I never have to worry about everyday wear. It’s a surface that truly combines style, strength, and simplicity, which makes it perfect for the way we live.”

Equally important is Neolith’s commitment to sustainability. Its surfaces are made from natural raw materials and are fully recyclable. This makes them an ideal choice for modern, environmentally conscious design—combining long-term performance with minimal environmental impact.
In this project, the stone’s performance supports the way the family uses the kitchen, especially around the island where daily life naturally gathers. The surface allows for freedom and ease—cooking, working, and sharing the space without hesitation—while the design remains crisp, calm, and elevated.
