Technical excellence for a home with demanding geometries

Madrid, Spain

Dynamic composition and rigorous formal design for a unique identity

Project location: Madrid, Spain
Project type: Single-family home
Neolith materials:

Neolith Just White and Neolith Cement

Located in a residential neighborhood of Madrid, this single-family home designed by Marta González Arquitectos, stands out for its clean lines and sloping planes that create a dynamic, distinctive volumetric play. The design delivers a bold architectural composition with a clear contemporary language, crafted to give the building a unique style.

The project's main challenge lay in resolving an envelope with complex, sloped planes while maintaining the clean, formal appearance of the whole. Neolith helped meet this challenge by providing creative freedom thanks to its versatile formats and lightweight properties, enabling precise and meticulous panel layout that preserved the purity of the design.

The neutral color palette of white and gray, featuring Neolith Just White and Neolith Cement, reinforces the volume’s sharp lines, adding sophistication, modernity, and visual consistency to the entire project.

Technical and aesthetic response in design

The building envelope demanded a solution capable of maintaining quality and aesthetic rigor despite Madrid’s climate, known for its sharp temperature contrasts and intense sun exposure. The goal was to ensure durability and visual stability over time.

“The project required a material that could handle a highly demanding design, both formally and technically, without compromising strength or performance. Neolith delivered exactly that, while allowing for a sober, modern language that was key to the home's design.”

Neolith’s technical performance guarantees smooth, consistent surfaces with low-maintenance needs, reducing long-term costs and upkeep.

The solution also strengthened the architect’s vision of a uniform facade with clean lines and a timeless, understated language, perfectly aligned with the overall concept of the home.

“I’d highlight its strength, lightness, and the purity of its finishes. Compared to more traditional materials, Neolith achieves an extremely clean result, ideal for a white facade, and performs exceptionally well in the face of climatic conditions without warping or deteriorating.”

Construction precision and adaptability for complex geometries

The sloped volumetry of the facade required a high degree of technical precision during construction, carried out by Euroclad. Neolith’s lightness and strength simplified handling and installation, making it possible to resolve challenging angles and junctions with exceptional quality and accuracy.

The ventilated facade was installed using a concealed chemical fixing system designed specifically for Neolith panels at 6 mm thickness. This system includes support and retention brackets, vertical profiles, and structural adhesive applied directly onto the framework.

This approach ensured seamless integration of the envelope with the home's overall volumetric design, preserving the intended play of light and shadow created by the sloping planes. Additionally, the material offered the essential creative freedom to develop a cohesive, continuous facade language in harmony with the project.

Material integration and architectural reading

Neolith helped create a harmonious dialogue with other materials used on the envelope, such as dark-toned window frames and large glass surfaces. The strategic combination of Neolith Just White and Neolith Cement was chosen to enhance contrast and enrich the volumetric reading of the design.

The result is a balanced composition in which the interplay of opaque and transparent surfaces reinforces the geometry of the sloping planes. Neolith’s neutral, timeless white and gray finishes bring both dynamism and sophistication, consolidating a contemporary aesthetic that remains relevant over time and fits naturally within Madrid’s residential context.

Conscious choices and low-impact solutions

For the architect, sustainability is a fundamental principle guiding every design decision. Neolith proved to be the ideal choice for reducing environmental impact thanks to its manufacturing features and responsible life cycle.

Neolith uses no resins, plastics, or added quartz in its formulation. It is made entirely from natural raw materials — clays and minerals — and its surfaces are 100% recyclable. Additionally, the electricity used in its production process comes from certified renewable sources and its own solar plant. The company recycles all water used in production and has achieved excellent Zero Waste certification by reusing or recycling over 96% of its industrial waste.

“For every project, we aim to select materials that reduce environmental impact, both through their composition and their life cycle. Neolith stands out for its commitment to sustainability, both in its production processes and its durability, perfectly aligning with that philosophy.”
