Some homes are designed to impress. Others are created to hold a life within them. Jessi Malay’s Miami home does both, bringing together a strong visual identity and a deeply personal sense of belonging. Conceived as a place where her family could gather, grow, and create memories over time, the house reflects a vision shaped by permanence, beauty, and emotional connection.

Jessi’s style has become recognizable for its balance of elegance and ease. Rooted in an organic modern aesthetic, her interiors bring together European-inspired stone, rich woods, and a soft, tonal palette that gives each room a sense of calm. Rather than relying on excess, the atmosphere is built through proportion, texture, and carefully chosen details that allow the space to feel grounded and inviting.

“I had a yearning to create a sense of permanence, a home base for our family, that could stand as a symbol of our dreams personified and be the place our family would return to for generations.”

That intention is especially present in the main living area of her one-story, 6,800-square-foot residence, where scale and softness are brought into perfect balance.

A setting for everyday connection

The central space of the house opens with remarkable generosity: a grand foyer flowing into formal living and dining areas, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the pool and large olive trees. The light is abundant, the proportions are expansive, and the atmosphere feels composed rather than imposing.

This is the part of the home around which everything else seems to orbit. It is where the family spends time together, where guests are welcomed, where holidays unfold, and where everyday moments are given room to breathe. The design was shaped around that idea from the beginning, with an emphasis on openness and shared experience.

“I wanted to create an environment for my husband and I and our three daughters that would always foster closeness and maximum time spent together, which is why we focused most of our energy and built the house around large, communal areas.”

The furnishing palette softens the grandeur of the architecture. Curved seating in warm ivory tones, sheer drapery, pale flooring, and understated styling create a sense of stillness throughout the room. A piano and bar area add personality and refinement, reinforcing the impression of a home that feels polished while remaining fully lived in.

The material at the center of the design

Within this setting, Neolith Strata Argentum becomes one of the defining elements of the interior. Applied to the two freestanding pillars and the fireplace cladding, it introduces a strong material presence that gives the room depth and identity. Its travertine-inspired character feels natural within the scheme, adding movement without disturbing the serenity of the palette.

Jessi had been looking for the effect of floor-to-ceiling travertine, and Neolith Strata Argentum offered exactly that visual language while meeting the practical needs of the project.

“I really wanted the space to have floor-to-ceiling travertine slabs, and when I found Neolith’s Strata Argentum that creates the same effect but so much more durable and easy to work with, I was sold.”

The result is subtle and striking at once. The material gives rhythm to the vertical planes of the room and helps accentuate the full height of the ceilings, while its warm, layered surface sits naturally alongside the neutral upholstery, the soft textile textures, and the organic details that shape the rest of the interior.

More than a backdrop, Neolith establishes the emotional register of the space. It brings a sense of finish, calm, and quiet confidence that transforms the room without making it feel formal or distant.

A sculptural fireplace

Among the project’s most memorable features is the floating fireplace, rising 20 feet high and fully clad in Neolith Strata Argentum. It is an ambitious architectural gesture, but one that feels deeply integrated into the home rather than purely dramatic. Its scale gives weight and focus to the living space, while the linear fire introduces warmth and intimacy.

“Our home was immediately elevated when Neolith was installed, making the grand foyer, living and dining areas feel like a luxe hotel experience.”

That hospitality-inspired feeling was part of the appeal. Jessi wanted the space to carry a sense of grandeur that people might not usually imagine in a private home, while still preserving the comfort and familiarity of everyday living. The fireplace plays a key role in achieving that balance, becoming both a focal point and a unifying element within the wider composition.

For Jessi, Neolith’s appeal was never only visual. Living with three children meant that performance mattered as much as appearance. The material needed to hold its own in a busy family environment while still delivering the richness and elegance she had envisioned.

She was drawn to Neolith for its resemblance to natural stone, both in how it looks and how it feels, along with its durability in daily use. That combination made it particularly compelling in a project where beauty could never come at the expense of livability.

The process, from the first showroom visit and sample review to the final installation, took around six months. One of the main technical challenges was building and securing the towering floating fireplace, as well as reinforcing the freestanding walls so the application could be carried out with confidence.

“Our greatest challenge was creating the 20 foot high floating fireplace, completely clad in Neolith Strata Argentum, and ensuring it was adequately secured.”

Even so, the material proved highly manageable during installation.

“Fortunately the material is much easier to work with than porcelain tiles that can potentially crack easily. We didn’t have any issues with that happening or wasted material.”

That ease of execution added another layer of value to the project, supporting an ambitious design without introducing unnecessary complexity.

Another reason Neolith resonated so strongly with Jessi was its alignment with a more conscious direction in design. Its use of recycled materials and its ability to deliver both beauty and long-term performance made it feel especially relevant to the way she sees the future of interiors.

“I love Neolith for many of the same reasons…the fact that it’s made from recycled materials to create a product that is just as if not even more beautiful than natural stone, but also performs better upon application and daily use, it only makes sense to me to move in this direction in design as we move towards a future that must become more conscious and sustainable.”

In a home shaped around longevity, that perspective feels entirely consistent. The material supports a way of designing that values permanence, responsibility, and beauty in equal measure.

How the design continues to inspire

The finished home continues to have a strong impact, both on Jessi and on those who experience the space. Visitors are consistently struck by the atmosphere of the house, and whenever it appears on Instagram, questions about the material quickly follow.

That reaction speaks to the effect Neolith Strata Argentum has within the project. It helps create a home that feels distinctive and memorable, but also deeply authentic to the way Jessi and her family live.

The experience has also shaped her plans moving forward. Having seen how beautifully the material performs in natural light, how well it wears over time, and how easily it adapts to family life, Jessi is already considering it for future projects and additional applications throughout the home.

“Since this was my first time using this material, I was not really sure what to expect, but now that I know the product is exceptionally stunning in the home, in natural lighting, stands the test of time, and wears well over time, even with children touching it all the time, I will absolutely be using it again and again moving forward.”

And above all, the project has given her exactly the feeling she had hoped to create.

“I could not be happier with the outcome…the Neolith slabs created the exact ambience I was striving for and every day until now, I walk through my house in awe and appreciation for getting to live there.”

In Jessi Malay’s home, Neolith Strata Argentum brings together material beauty, architectural presence, and everyday durability in a way that feels effortless. The result is a space that captures her vision with clarity: warm, elevated, and made to be lived in for years to come.
