In Xiamen—a city where the vitality of the sea meets the ancient charm of Southern Fujian—Techsize has created the Neolith Living Gallery Xiamen, a space that uses Neolith sintered stone as its language. Here, visitors are invited to find clarity and serenity amid the city’s vibrant rhythm.
Drawing inspiration from nature, the surfaces on display authentically recreate the unparalleled textures and patterns of natural stone. This is both a tribute to the timeless beauty of nature and a commitment to craftsmanship. ZCID Cheng Chung Design took cues from these materials, transforming their essence into a spatial aesthetic through a refined, minimalist approach.
Restraint and spontaneity. Finding harmony in contrast.
Minimalism here is not emptiness but an invitation—giving the space time to breathe and evolve and allowing each visitor to shape their own vision of life within it.
The facade embodies both restraint and boldness. Large-format black and white slabs are carefully juxtaposed, their contrasts converging into a delicate balance. Clean lines and geometric contours add a sense of quiet strength, giving the exterior a distinctive character.

Inside, simplicity continues. Superfluous ornamentation is stripped away, letting Neolith sintered stone take center stage. Playful sculptural arrangements of stone, reminiscent of rocks scattered in nature, bring a sense of effortless spontaneity. This makes the gallery an ideal setting for intimate gatherings, where people can sit, lean, and converse in an atmosphere of ease and openness.
“Our goal was to let the material speak for itself—using simplicity, light, and proportion to create a space that feels timeless, calm, and deeply human.”
- ZCID Cheng Chung Design
At the entrance, Neolith Estatuario is reinterpreted in a dynamic composition, guiding the visitor’s gaze and setting the tone for discovery. Further inside, soft beams highlight the sandy texture of Neolith Arena, while sculptures within niches gain a sculptural, almost mysterious presence.

A long central table flows seamlessly into stepped seating, creating a multifunctional space where form and function merge. The casual design encourages interaction, while subtle details—like ultra-thin edges and seamless joints—showcase the precision and artistry of Techsize craftsmanship.

Even the fireplace base and table legs employ advanced techniques inspired by Italian architect Carlo Scarpa, layering surfaces to create rhythm and order. Every corner, from stair edges to wall junctions, achieves a flawless continuity that reflects both technical mastery and artistic refinement.
Here, restraint meets freedom, simplicity meets complexity. Raw expressions of stone harmonize with fine detailing, creating a space that balances dramatic tension with quiet elegance.
Light and shadow. Illuminating the essence of stone.
The designers used light as an architectural tool. Adjustable lighting reveals the delicate veins and unique surface qualities of each slab, enriching the atmosphere with depth and rhythm.
Hidden light sources trace along a water-feature corridor, where the dark intensity of Neolith Layla contrasts with the calm tones of Neolith Arena, creating a serene and immersive environment. At the corridor’s end, a bespoke LED wall reflects natural water patterns, enhanced by textured flooring that resembles rock weathered by flowing streams. Visitors are drawn into a sensory experience where stone, water, and light converge.
Stone textures. Returning to nature’s essence.
Throughout the gallery, the stone surfaces emphasize natural veining—echoing geological movements that shaped them over millennia. To highlight this authenticity, the design juxtaposes refined slabs with raw stone fragments.
“At Techsize, we seek to capture the wisdom of nature through precise craftsmanship and return its beauty through technological innovation.”
- Shirley Qiu,
General Manager of Techsize

Simplicity as a lifestyle

The design strips away excess to reveal the essence of Neolith sintered stone—and of life itself. Expanses of negative space invite contemplation, while the surfaces themselves tell their own story. Within this minimalist canvas, a lifestyle rooted in nature and serenity quietly takes shape.
