In a project that redefines contemporary Australian design, award-winning designer Gavin Hepper, from Concepts by Gavin Hepper, has transformed the Bayview Residence into a sanctuary of elevated functionality and refined materiality. Centered on Neolith sintered stone surfaces from the newly launched Neolith Atmosphere product range, this extensive home renovation showcases how design excellence and high-performance materials come together to support modern family living and entertaining.

Located on Sydney’s scenic Northern Beaches, Bayview Residence is a long-term family home undergoing a complete transformation. The homeowners envisioned an environment that offered both day-to-day functionality and luxury for entertaining, including a gourmet kitchen with butler’s pantry, a wellness-infused primary suite, and multiple refined living zones, both indoor and outdoor.

At the center of the residence is a show-stopping kitchen, where an oversized island in Neolith WhiteSands becomes the anchor of family connection and entertaining. With its creamy warmth and calming tone, WhiteSands immediately sets the tone for the space; elegant, soft, and emotionally grounding.

The kitchen blends form with function. At one end of the island, Neolith’s heat- and stain-high resistant properties support meal preparation. At the other end, it becomes a social hub. The use of a 200mm mitred apron and elongated sharknose edge on the island brings refinement, while a metallic ‘breezeway’ detail gives the stone an unexpected lightness.

Neolith WhiteSands also wraps the kitchen’s service wall and surrounds a metallic, floating rangehood, showcasing the surface’s versatility, from the elegant 12mm profile on the walls to the countertops in the adjoining butler’s pantry, detailed with 40mm aprons and 20mm floating shelves.

“WhiteSands from Neolith Atmosphere product range feels effortlessly connected to its surroundings. It allowed us to layer the space with sage greens, fluted glass, warm timber, and refined metallics for a kitchen that’s equally functional and serene,” says Hepper.

The same design restraint and material elegance extend into the home’s multi-zoned main bathroom, where Neolith Artisan is the hero surface. Chosen for its soft, textural character, Artisan wraps the floors, walls, vanity benchtops, splashbacks and even forms an integrated basin.

Arched mirrored cabinets, fluted glass doors, linen sheers, and Sydney Bronze tapware from Astra Walker all contribute to a spa-like feel. The custom vanity, crafted in American walnut Milano Cabinetti panels, offers a rich counterpoint to the subtle tones of Neolith Artisan.

From the tactile elegance of WhiteSands to the rich, refined finish of Artisan, Neolith Atmosphere plays a foundational role in the Bayview Residence. These surfaces do more than define the look of a space, they enhance its function, longevity, and the emotional experience of living within it.
