The power of emotional interior design with Casa Yin at Marbella Design & Art

This is Casa Yin, the captivating proposal by interior designer Cristina Puerta for Marbella Design & Art 2024, a bedroom inspired by the two core concepts of Taoism, Yin and Yang, two inseparable and complementary opposing forces, which form a whole, where Neolith surfaces play a central role.

“Casa Yin focuses on the bedroom because it’s the part of the home that reflects relaxation and reflection. It’s our most cherished refuge, and taking care of its design is essential to experience the peace we long for at the end of the day,” explains interior designer Cristina Puerta.

This project is a perfect example of the significance of emotional interior design and reveals how much the spaces we inhabit influence our mood. In this sense, it’s crucial to enhance the positive aspects of rooms and avoid what is commonly referred to as "visual noise." Furthermore, Cristina Puerta emphasizes the importance of paying attention to every detail, material, and finish that adorns the space, since “much of our emotional load is carried by everything our home reflects,” she adds.

In this atmosphere of emotional well-being that offers Casa Yin, the importance of sustainability and the use of materials that, like Neolith, are respectful of the environment and take care of our planet, makes more sense than ever.

Surfaces that help create an atmosphere of mystery

Cristina Puerta has selected Neolith's Amazonico and Everest Sunrise surfaces. “The dark, mysterious tones, combined with the natural contrast of the finishes, reflect the beauty that one feels inside when reflecting in a deeper way,” says the designer.

Additionally, Cristina Puerta highlights how the versatility of Neolith materials, available in any format, was essential for the project: “In this case, we chose straight lines for their elegance and perfect balance.” The space exudes an enveloping aura of mystery and intensity for all who visit it.

Neolith Amazonico “captivated us from the first moment with its power, its darkness, and the way it shows us how exotic stones can be.” On the other hand, the Everest Sunrise model contrasts with its delicacy and purity. “By weaving these two together, the space achieves a balance of strength and calm, evoking a sense of fullness and well-being to harmonize Casa Yin’s essence and the power of inner strength reflected in the space,” explains Cristina.

Bathrooms that are truly trendy

Cristina Puerta reminds us that, a few years ago, bathrooms were often relegated to being a secondary piece, based on basic elements, without showing a thoughtful design strategy. Over time, bathrooms have gained prominence, and their carefully design now reflects the well-being we seek, creating a space where we can relax and connect with ourselves, she points out.

Dark colors, noble materials, soft lighting, elegance, innovation, and sophistication... In Casa Yin’s magnificent resting space, the bathing ritual becomes pure pleasure. The freestanding bathtub promises unique moments of relaxation.

Marbella Design & Art is undoubtedly a fantastic platform where top interior designers showcase the latest trends each year. This time, Neolith surfaces dazzled with strength and elegance in Cristina Puerta’s Casa Yin, which was also recognized with two awards at the 7th edition of the Marbella Design & Art Awards.
