‘Upcycling’, the latest trend in luxury and interior design
The latest in luxury and interior design has a lot to do with the importance of respecting the planet and sustainability. Advances in recycling and material reuse are creating new paradigms with the goal of "zero waste", according to the Neolith’s Trends Book.
We are experiencing the great era of respect for the planet, where "upcycling" is taking center stage over recycling. Upcycling involves repurposing objects to create new products, giving them a new life through creativity.
Elements created from a desire for reuse
Thanks to ingenuity, new products are continually emerging from materials that would have otherwise been wasted and are now fulfilling a new function.
When we talk about "upcycling" in furniture and utensils, innovations using recycled materials are becoming increasingly common: plates made from plastic bags; tables created from repurposed food containers; lamps made from mycelium grown on used beer grains, or tableware made from crushed wine bottles; containers made from leftover wood shavings to conserve organic waste and produce compost; elegant boxes that can be used on kitchen countertops, dining tables, or hotel breakfast buffets to collect biological waste, such as eggshells or vegetable and fruit peels, so they can be composted or recycled into bioenergy, etc.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in society
This decorative trend based on "upcycling" is gaining strength thanks to the new generations, particularly Millennials and Generation Z, who are much more aware of the need to respect the planet. Increasingly, spending is no longer driven solely by affordability; factors such as sustainability, social impact, and genuine need are also considered.
In interior design and architecture, Neolith surfaces stand out as a clear reflection of the essence and creation of sintered stone, made from natural raw materials.
At Neolith, we support interior designers, architects, and design lovers in the creation of spaces of the future that are highly respectful with the planet.
Our sintered stone is the result of an innovation effort aimed at achieving our primary objectives: “zero waste”, the use of recycled raw materials and a production process with a neutral carbon footprint. A material that allows us to build a future for everyone.
