Calma House: a home in Valladolid that embodies balance, warmth, and sophistication

Valladolid, Spain

The value of design starts with the choice of materials

Project location: Valladolid, Spain
Project type: Single-family residence
Neolith materials:

Neolith Terrazo Ceppo and Neolith Himalaya Crystal

Created to offer an immersive and mindful living experience, Calma House finds in Neolith the perfect partner to bring to life spaces that combine natural light, aesthetic harmony, and functionality. Designed by Green Iluminación & Deco, this single-family home in Valladolid features a warm material palette, organic textures, and an open layout that encourages visual flow and fosters a continuous dialogue between indoors and outdoors, reinforcing its connection to nature.

Neolith takes center stage in the home’s key areas, bringing character, sophistication, and a seamless visual continuity that reinforces the house’s design language. Its combination of beauty, durability, and easy maintenance makes it an ideal choice for integrating design and functionality into everyday living.

An open kitchen that blends warmth and character

At the heart of the home is an open-plan kitchen that connects to the living room and offers a visual link to the porch and garden. Here, Neolith Terrazo Ceppo has been used for both the countertop and wall cladding, adding depth and dynamism with its gray base speckled with mineral fragments—a contemporary nod to traditional terrazzo.

The choice of this material goes beyond aesthetics: its high resistance to heat, stains, and scratches makes it an excellent option for such environments. Its rich texture and timeless design bring a distinctive presence, transforming the kitchen into a warm, functional space for everyday living and gathering.

Natural transitions with a serene aesthetic

Visual coherence across the home’s different spaces is enhanced by Neolith Himalaya Crystal, used on one of the living room’s main walls. This surface frames a large window with views of a courtyard centered around a centuries-old olive tree, creating an interplay of contrasts between built and natural elements.

Inspired by the purity of Himalayan salt crystals, Himalaya Crystal stands out for its translucent white background and delicate veining, softening the space and amplifying natural light. Its subtle presence brings an atmosphere of serenity and sophistication, perfect for enhancing the harmony of this open and bright environment.

Materials designed for today and built to last

Choosing durable, responsible materials is more than a technical decision—it’s a statement of intent. In Calma House, the use of Neolith surfaces reflects the desire to create a home designed to last, with solutions that combine high performance and low environmental impact.

Made from natural raw materials, Neolith surfaces are ultra-compact, with near-zero porosity and exceptional resistance to heat, UV rays, and wear. This technology ensures long-lasting performance and minimal maintenance while contributing to more efficient and environmentally friendly architecture.
