Alex Cordobés has built a distinctive language within haute pastry. His universe, recognizable to the public and defined by a very clear sensitivity toward product and image, has grown to the point where every launch becomes an experience with its own identity. In this context, the opening of his new Creativity & R&D Center in Madrid marks a new chapter in that evolution: a place designed to support a creative vision in constant development.

“This center was born from the need to have a space of our own where research, experimentation, and prototyping can happen without limits. A place where our ideas can evolve until they become a concept with its own narrative. The goal is to continue creating products and experiences with intention, coherence, and soul, while taking care of every stage of the process.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

The new space, designed by José Lara Interiorismo, responds to a way of working that demands precision, time, and an environment prepared to sustain complex processes. More than a functional support, the center becomes a key element in the brand’s growth, giving physical form to a structure conceived to keep expanding its creative universe.

“The new space represents a natural step in our evolution. It is the materialization of our way of working: obsession, trial and error, and the pursuit of excellence.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

A space that supports the brand’s evolution

The center brings together different layers of the Alex Cordobés universe in one place. It is an environment designed to develop new proposals, test ideas, and move forward with projects that require a cross-disciplinary perspective. Here, the culinary dimension coexists with the visual and conceptual, in a space that encourages a more complete and structured vision of every development.

“Having a dedicated space allows for deeper research, better documentation, and the transformation of ideas into solid concepts. The methodology becomes more intentional: every project starts with an idea that is nurtured and developed until it achieves its own identity.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

This new stage also reflects a more solid way of organizing the creative process. The space allows for greater depth and continuity, integrating different disciplines under the same logic and reinforcing an identity that goes far beyond the final product.

“It is a space conceived as both a creative hub and our own studio set. Recipes and collaborations are developed here, and all tastings take place here as well. At the same time, part of the audiovisual content that accompanies each project is produced and filmed here. It is the point where all the disciplines we work with come together.”

Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

Design and identity in balance, with Neolith at the heart of the project

The intervention developed alongside José Lara Interiorismo translates this vision into a sober, precise, and contemporary interior design language. The project creates a highly defined atmosphere, where the composition in black and white brings visual continuity and connects naturally with the Alex Cordobés brand identity.

“The chromatic harmony was built around black and white. These are colors that flow throughout the space and are a hallmark of the Alex Cordobés brand.”

— José Lara
Interior designer and CEO of José Lara Interiorismo

Rather than imposing itself, the design supports the experience, creating a serene, functional, and coherent environment where the spatial experience serves the creative process. Within that balance between expressiveness and order, materiality takes on a decisive role.

“The design of the space is key because it directly influences how people think and create. It is not just an aesthetic matter, but a working tool that enables and facilitates the team’s creative development. An environment tailored to needs and goals fosters concentration, stimulates new ideas, and elevates the quality of decision-making.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

Within this vision, Neolith Victoria structures the space through its application on flooring, shelving, and the monolithic island. Thanks to its 3D printing technology and full-body veining design it delivers a continuous, clean, and character-rich visual expression. Its dark background contrasts with the visual depth and intense whiteness of its veins, which run through the entire surface, revealing an unparalleled authenticity.

“The project is built around the spectacular nature of Neolith Victoria, which stands as the undisputed protagonist of the space.”

— José Lara
Interior designer and CEO of José Lara Interiorismo

The choice of Neolith Victoria reinforces the unity of the whole and helps build a contemporary aesthetic closely aligned with Alex Cordobés’ visual universe.

The monolithic island concentrates much of that expressive strength. Its presence organizes the space and acts as one of its main visual focal points, bringing an almost sculptural dimension to the whole. From there, the rest of the applications extend that same language and consolidate an atmosphere that feels precise and beautifully resolved.

A surface prepared for the real pace of the space

In an environment like this, the material had to respond reliably to constant demands. The choice of Neolith is therefore tied both to its aesthetic capabilities and to its performance in daily use. Its strength, durability, and ease of maintenance make it an ideal solution for a space where activity is continuous and every surface is part of the work.

“What we value most about Neolith is its strength, durability, and ease of maintenance under constant use. In an environment where things are tested, handled, and experimented with every day, we need surfaces that can keep up with the pace.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

Other qualities especially valued in the project include hygiene, design, and sustainability. Together, these attributes allow the space to maintain a refined image while meeting the functional demands of a center devoted to research and creative development.

“We share values such as precision, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence. Neolith brings a technical and aesthetic materiality that fits our way of understanding detail: surfaces that allow us to experiment, withstand daily use, and maintain a clean, contemporary image.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés

Surfaces serving the creative process

In this project, Neolith does more than complement the space’s aesthetic proposal. Its presence directly participates in the center’s logic of use, integrating into an environment where every element must respond to a specific function without losing visual coherence. Neolith surfaces therefore become an active part of a way of working based on rigor, detail, and consistency.

The result is a space where design and performance move in the same direction. A place that supports the evolution of a brand with a highly defined identity and shows how the choice of material can genuinely help sustain contemporary creative processes.

“Neolith is an active part of the creative process. It is not just a material, but a tool that supports the intense work of research and development.”

— David Cordobés
Operations and R&D Director at Alex Cordobés
