Neolith transforms matter into contemplative art at ADN Fórum 2025

  • The company participates with “Portal”, an installation created by Colombian artist Mareo, which explores inner transformation and the connection between the mineral and spiritual realms.

  • Fully clad in Neolith Mont Blanc, the space becomes a silent refuge where the brand reveals its most poetic and contemplative side.

Neolith returns to ADN Fórum — the event that brings together the best in art, design, and architecture at Madrid’s Plaza de Colón — with a proposal that transcends material boundaries. In this new edition, held from October 23–26, 2025, the brand presents “Portal”, an installation conceived by renowned Colombian multidisciplinary artist Mario Rodríguez Echeverry, known as Mareo. The piece invites visitors to a meditative reflection on light, matter, and consciousness.

Developed in collaboration with Mareo, the work transforms a sealed container into an intimate and symbolic space meant to be experienced from stillness. Inside, Neolith sintered stone becomes a medium for spiritual exploration, where textures, reflections, and silence take on deep meaning. In contrast with the surrounding urban rhythm, Portal offers a moment of calm and contemplation—a refuge where visitors can pause, observe, and reconnect with their inner selves.

According to Mareo, “Portal is an immersive installation representing a threshold between matter and spirit, darkness and light. It’s not meant to be crossed, but rather contemplated. I want viewers to experience an inner pause, a sense of connection and transcendence in front of a luminous presence that invites introspection.”

Matter as a vehicle for light

The interior of the installation is entirely clad in Neolith Mont Blanc, a surface inspired by natural quartzite that combines elegance, subtlety, and timeless character. Its delicate gray veining and ivory tones bring a sense of purity and serenity, enveloping the space in an almost sacred atmosphere of stillness.

At the back, a vertical crack of light pierces the surface, cutting through the wall and projecting onto the ceiling through a reflective mirror that amplifies the sense of depth. This sculptural gesture, simple yet rich in symbolism, represents inner openness, vulnerability, and the transformative process that arises from imperfection. The warm, diffused light emerging from the fissure acts as a metaphor for consciousness—a reminder that every crack can also become a gateway to clarity.

As Mareo explains, “Neolith provides the essential materiality the piece required; its pure, mineral surface reinforces the ideas of permanence and silence, transforming the container into a chamber of contemplation where the fissure becomes a source of energy and balance.”

To heighten the sensory experience, visitors enter the container through layered curtains that block external noise and prepare them for a more introspective encounter. Inside, a subtle sound design inspired by the resonant tones of Tibetan singing bowls accompanies the visit, enhancing the feeling of temporal suspension.

A dialogue between art, design, and material consciousness

With this proposal, Neolith reinforces its presence at major international forums dedicated to contemporary design, demonstrating the versatility of its surfaces beyond architectural or functional applications. “Portal” represents an opportunity to explore the artistic and sensory dimension of sintered stone, highlighting its capacity to become part of projects where art, architecture, and emotion converge.

According to Andreas Manero, Marketing Director of Neolith Group, “Participating in ADN Fórum allows us to place our surfaces in a context that goes beyond the decorative or technical. In this installation, matter comes to life through art, becoming a medium for reflection on the passage of time, our connection with nature, and beauty as a form of awareness.”

The dialogue between Mareo’s work and the Neolith Mont Blanc model reveals how high-end materials can become catalysts for emotional and aesthetic experiences. The purity of design and technical precision of the material merge with the artist’s sensitivity, resulting in an installation that harmoniously combines technology, art, and spirituality.

The outcome is an ephemeral yet deeply evocative space that exemplifies Neolith’s vision as a brand committed to innovation and contemporary thinking. In “Portal”, sintered stone transcends its architectural condition to become a medium for introspection—a reminder of the beauty contained within the essential.

The project also includes the collaboration of DecorTOM, a company specializing in comprehensive interior design solutions that supported the technical development of the space, and Bang & Olufsen Retiro, a benchmark in sound and design, which contributed its acoustic excellence to enhance the installation’s immersive sensory dimension.
