Discover how to inhabit the invisible through design
Sometimes, architecture transcends the matter to touch the intangible. At Casa Decor 2025, Neolith and the studio davidedavid present a concept that goes beyond what is visible and functional, delving into the realm of emotion.
“Pasaje Hacia el Interior del Alma” is an invitation to step across a threshold into a world of senses, where matter comes alive, perception sharpens, and design becomes an inner journey.
A sanctuary for the soul
Architecture and interior design studio davidedavid, founded by Davide Ridenti and David Pérez Fernández, has spent over a decade exploring the boundaries between art, design and architecture. Their proposal for Neolith at Casa Decor 2025 is the culmination of that journey: an installation that goes beyond creating a space—it builds an atmosphere capable of stirring emotion and introspection.
“From the very beginning, we knew we wanted to create a space where emotion took precedence over functionality,” the designers explain. Inspired by the essence of contemporary Japanese architecture—spaces without a defined use—De Chirico’s metaphysical dreamscapes, and Roman ruins reclaimed by nature, the architects have created a passage that reconnects us with the essential. “This project stems from the desire to reclaim a forgotten space where the soul comes before the physical. Spaces like this, still rare in our homes today, will become a true necessity in the future,” they state.
Neolith, the material that evokes emotion
At the heart of this experience is Neolith’s sintered stone. Much more than a cladding, its surfaces become a medium through which light, reflections and textures awaken deep sensations. The colors chosen to shape and give life to the space were San Simone, Niagara, Whitehaven and Cappadocia Sunset.
“Neolith’s catalogue is so extensive that the possibilities were nearly endless,” say the designers. “But we chose these four models for their elegance and the way they resonated with the spiritual narrative of the project. Much like chapels, where humble materials are paired with noble finishes,” they add.
Each surface was selected for its power to echo the emotional story of the installation. In the words of its creators: “If you stay silent and truly listen, the projects speak to you. Most of our decisions are born from that conversation.”
Architecture you can feel
Nothing in the installation happens by chance. From the initial sense of uncertainty as you cross the threshold to the calm that gradually envelops the visitor, every detail has been designed to encourage an inner transformation. Soft lighting, reimagined nature, the play of reflections... everything serves to awaken the senses.
The arch, the design’s central feature, symbolizes the journey. “The arch is an archetypal element, universally recognized as a threshold between two realms. From the triumphal arches of ancient times to the Shinto torii gates that mark the entrance to the spiritual world, this form channels the idea of passage and transformation,” they explain.
A collaboration that goes beyond the professional
The partnership between Neolith and davidedavid is born of genuine connection. “This isn’t our first collaboration with Neolith, and as the song goes, ‘say the word, and we’ll drop everything,’” they laugh. A sense of complicity shines through in every detail of the installation, which is the result of mutual respect and a shared vision: to create spaces that inspire, move, and leave no one indifferent.
“Our philosophy is grounded in the intrinsic connection between art, design and architecture. We can’t see architecture without design, or design without art. Architecture soothes the body, design the mind, and art the soul,” they summarize.
Inspiring today, imagining tomorrow
With “Pasaje Hacia el Interior del Alma”, Neolith once again pushes the boundaries of conventional design to open the door to new ways of inhabiting space. A proposal that reaffirms its leadership in innovation, aesthetics and sustainability, and proves how materials can truly connect with the deepest layers of the human spirit.
